VISITOR ATTRACTIONS IN THE SCOTTISH BORDERS

The Scottish Borders is steeped in history and all the area’s visitor attractions are within easy reach of Burt’s Hotel. From walking tours to archaeological sites, there is something for everyone in the Borders.

As well as Melrose Abbey, which is reputed to be the burial place of the heart of Robert the Bruce, you can also visit the ruined abbeys at Kelso, Dryburgh, and Jedburgh.

Between Melrose and Galashiels is the splendid 19th century Abbotsford House, built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott. Among the attractions at Abbotsford House are its walled garden, extensive woodland walks, and the private chapel, built in memory of Sir Walter Scott.

Edinburgh, or Auld Reekie as it was known, is less than an hour away. However you choose to spend your days, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you when you return to Burt’s Hotel.
