Burts Hotel in Melrose has just been named as County Dining Pub of the Year in the Good Pub Awards for 2015.
This much loved Borders landmark is the only establishment in the whole of Scotland to be given this prestigious award which recognises their winning combination of wonderful food and welcoming Bistro Bar.
The Henderson family who have owned and run the hotel for more than 40 years are passionate supporters of local food and drink, and menus always feature dishes made from the finest top quality, seasonal ingredients such as local game, succulent Scotch beef, fresh local fish, and stunning puddings prepared by the hotel’s dedicated Pastry Chef. From lunch time treats such as Steamed West Coast Mussels to supper delights like Parfait of Venison and Braised Shank of Border Lamb, they are all served in the warmth and comfort of the Bistro Bar.
Combine that with a range of 90 single malts listed on Burt’s dedicated Whisky Menu, a fine range of cask conditioned ales and an extensive array of fine wines in the Burts Hotel Cellar, you can see why this favourite with locals and visitors has come out on top.
