Our Beer Gardens in the heart of Melrose

Always popular with walkers, afternoon guests and those with dogs, our Burts Beer Garden offers a superb and large outdoor space.

However, post pandemic, we realised just how vitally important our Beer Gardens are to our guests, so we decided to make some improvements which will make this a fabulous space all year long, weather permitting!

To complement the generous choice of stylish teak outdoor furniture, we have had Astro Turf laid throughout, extended the garden area via a lovely new pergola, and introduced even more colourful planting too.

This offers a calm and relaxing outdoor space right in the heart of Melrose, which can now be enjoyed for as much of the year as is possible. Perfect for meeting up with friends, relaxing on a break or taking a well-earned rest when out walking, cycling, touring or shopping!

And no Beer Garden would be complete without a wonderful choice of beer. As you will see, this is something we take very seriously at Burts.

Our Beer Gardens are open all day at both Burts and The Townhouse offering a full range of drinks, coffees & teas (and our famous shortbread) and fabulous cocktails both sides of the street!

With more than 25 gins in house, a fabulous whisky collection and an outstanding wine cellar, there’s more to our beer gardens than just beer. We also offer delicious lunches, suppers and light bites too.

Outside Eating

Lunches are served 12 – 2.30pm

Burts Light Bite menu is available on Saturday and Sunday throughout the afternoon (Burts Only)

Supper is available 6 – 8.30pm every day at both Burts and The Townhouse.

And we always have plenty of yummy locally made Ice Cream by Lucy from Overlangshaw Farm Ice Cream (made just 5 miles away).
